THAT'S JUST YOUR OPINION! (PART 10)
Christ Jesus has given His people "...an understanding, that we may know Him that is True..." (1 John 5:20). The truth only appears complex to those who do not know what it is. It is man's ignorance of the truth which holds him a prisoner to his perverted understanding of it. Understanding is only given to God's chosen and not to others. "Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand....But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the Word, and understandeth it..." (Matthew 13:13,23). The ones with the problem are the ones who do not know the truth for they do not recognize it as truth which is why they continue to vainly believe only in what they believe the truth to be rather than what the truth is. Such people, with the reliability of one who 'knows' they do not snore, place their eternal futures not in the Gospel of God but in their warped understanding of it. The only people who have no license whatsoever to speak of what the Truth of God is are those who do not know what it is. However, ignorance has never stopped the mouths of the unknowledgeable. Truth is simply something which is unchangeably correct and man must accept it for his own good or reject it to his own ruin. Importantly, man's views and opinions must conform to, be brought into line with, the truth and not the other way around. So, too, when it comes to the things of God, in particular what the Gospel of God is, truth is not something which is open to the speculatory, ever-changing and varying opinions of men but is simply what God says it is. Truth is not governed by some fabled law of opinion but solely by the true God. Now I realise that 'truth seekers', people who are serious about believing the truth, really have no problem with this. What they do have a problem with are the age old questions: 'What is truth?' and 'Which is the true Gospel of God?'. Just as any answer to an equation sounds as good as another to the one who does not know the true answer, so too, the man who does not know what the True Gospel of God is, many various and variant descriptions of it sound as good as each other. In light of Scripture, we are shown that the true Gospel of God does indeed exist, that it is identifiable, and distinguishable from all others, to those who have been given an understanding of it. The Gospel of God is alive and well and is within the very pages of Holy Scripture.
Though none to whom the Gospel of God is hid know what God's Truth is, this can never be used as a legitimate argument against its existence. Likewise, simply because there are numerous false gospels which the majority of those claiming to be Christian believe in, this in no way negates the existence of the one true Gospel of God. There are few that would deny that God's Word is Truth. But problems arise when those who have not been given eyes to see and ears to hear the Gospel of God, who have not received the gift of Faith to understand and believe it as the Truth of God, meet up with those who have. The simple and undeniable truth of the matter is that there are those on this earth who are convinced they are saved born again Christians who actually are, and, there are many more who are just as convinced that they are saved born again Christians but who in fact are not and to whom the Lord Jesus will say I never knew you: "Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:22,23). Perhaps the even more terrifying reality of this verse for those who believed and trusted in false gospels is that throughout the course of their lives, no doubt replete with religiosity and devoutness, in doing good, in their praying and worship, it was never the true Christ whom they knew! It was never the true Christ they prayed to, worshipped or trusted. It was another christ which the Gospel of God knows nothing of. It was another christ who does not qualify as the Christ of the Gospel of God. "...the Lord knoweth them that are His..." (2 Timothy 2:19). The Lord Jesus only knows His people for they were all chosen by God the Father and given to Him (see John 17:2). "The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him" (Nahum 1:7). Those who do not trust in Him are revealed by their adherence to false doctrines about Him. Doctrines which are incongruous to the Gospel of Christ. Those who deny Him through their faith in false doctrines will be denied by Him "...if we deny Him, He also will deny us" (2 Timothy 2:12). "There is a denying of Christ in words; so it is denied by the Jews that Christ is come in the flesh, and that Jesus is the Messiah; and some that have bore the Christian name, though very unworthily, have denied his true Deity, his real humanity, proper sonship, and the efficacy of his blood, righteousness, and sacrifice, for pardon, justification, and atonement: and there is a denying of him in works; so some that profess to know him, and do own him in his person and offices, yet in works deny him; their conversation is not becoming their profession of him; they have the form of godliness, but deny the power of it: there is a secret and silent denying of him, when men are ashamed of him, and do not confess him; and there is an open denying of him, by such who set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh throughout the earth; there is a partial denying of Christ, which was Peter's case, though his faith in him, and love to him, were not lost; and there is a total denying of him, a thorough apostasy, and from which there is no recovery; and if there be any such apostates among those who have named the name of Christ, he will deny them, he will not own them for his another day; he will set them at his left hand; he will declare he knows them not, and will banish them from his presence for evermore. This is another branch of the faithful saying; this will certainly be the case; Christ himself has said it (see Matthew 10:33). Scripture asks: "How then shall they call on Him in Whom they have not believed?..." How can these ones ever have been calling on the Lord in their prayers and worship etc., when they did not know and believe in the true Christ but in a false christ? The Lord Jesus says: "I am the Good Shepherd, and know My sheep, and am known of Mine" (John 10:14). To be known by Christ is to truly know and believe in the Christ of the Gospel of God for that is the evidence that He has come to you and revealed Himself to you. Speaking to the Jews at one time, Christ said: "But ye believe not, because ye are not of My sheep....My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish..." (John 10:26-28). The reason why the Jews would not believe Him is because they were not of His sheep and consequently did not recognize the truth which Jesus had spoken to them: "...because I tell you the Truth, ye believe Me not" (John 8:45). Conversely, Christ announced "Every one that is of the Truth heareth My voice" (John 18:37). Those whom Christ never knew never heard the voice of Christ, they never once recognized it as the voice of the true Christ, but mistook the voice of a stranger as the voice of the true Lord (see John 10:4,5). "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His..." (2 Timothy 2:19 cf. Nahum 1:7). God knows those who are His, for He has, "according to the good pleasure of His will" (Ephesians 1:5), predestinated them, He has acted with grace toward them, He has granted them the gift of Faith to believe in His Son as God and Savior, etc. "He that is of God heareth God's Words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God" (John 8:47). The apostle Paul phrases it thusly: "But if our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost" (2 Corinthians 4:3). Those who claim to know God and yet believe not His Gospel are nothing but liars, as would those who do know God be if they were to say they do not know Him. Christ says: "...it is My Father that honoreth Me; of Whom ye say, that He is your God: yet ye have not known Him; but I know Him: and if I should say, I know Him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know Him and keep His saying" (John 8:54,55). Man by nature does not have a predisposition to the true Gospel of God. Those who have been born again by the Work of God, by the grace of God and given the gift of Faith from God, are the only ones who have a predilection towards the True Gospel. If you believe to the end of your days in a false gospel which tells of another christ you may be assured that the true Christ does not know you. In fact, HE NEVER KNEW YOU. You were never of His sheep and, regardless of your sincerity and confidence in what you believed, YOU NEVER KNEW HIM. To know only the christ of a false gospel, or to choose him rather than the true Christ, is to not know the Christ of God's Gospel. Notice that while such people have a natural aversion to the Truth of God, and therefore to the true God Himself, they do however lead very active, religious lives. How those whom Christ did not know, had prophesied and done many wonderful works in His very name. They even believed they were casting out devil's in His name. Imagine the wonderful and exhilarating experiences these people must have had, believing they had cast out devils and receiving perceived answers to prayer. How they must have interpreted purely physical sensations and thrills as being spiritual ones. How respected they had become in the sight of people, etc. But in the cold light of day the reality of any situation is never what you mistakenly perceive it to be but only what it truly is. As with the Truth of God, reality is what it is no matter your opinion, experiences or convictions. IF YOU HOLD TO BELIEFS TO THE END OF YOUR LIFE WHICH, IN ANY WAY, CONTRADICT THE GOSPEL OF GOD, YOU WERE NEVER OF HIS SHEEP. Like the Pharisees of old, those who hold to false gospels deny the true God. Jesus says: "The world cannot hate you; but Me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil" (John 7:7). Notice, firstly, how Christ refers to the most respected religious leaders of His day as the world. One is either of God or of the world. If you are of God then you will hear Him, but if you are not of God, if you are of the word, you will not hear Him. Evil works are not made up merely of those outwardly and overtly wicked sins but also of seemingly good works. "Christ bore His testimony of these, that they were evil; being done either not according to the command of God, but the traditions of the elders; or not from a right principle, as of faith and love, nor to a right end, as the glory of God; but only to be seen of men." Paul the apostle counted such works in his pre-Christian life as dung (see Philippians 3:6-10). Truth, and the consequences of not believing the Gospel, remains the same no matter how you try and spin your way around it. No matter how many 'good works' and selfless deeds you perform, works without the Faith from God are dead. Despite what those in Matthew 7 perceived and were convinced of, the reality of their situation was that Christ never knew them. They appealed to Him with their works - what they thought they had done for Him - and yet He never knew them for they believed not the truth about Him. Nothing they ever did or believed could change that fact. IF YOU NEVER KNEW THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, THE CHRIST OF THE GOSPEL NEVER KNEW YOU. All Christ's people hear Him and know Him. All Christ's people know and believe His Gospel. Though the wheat and tares grow together only one of them is wheat, the other merely looks like it. "He answered and said unto them, 'He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; the field is the world; the good seed are the children of the Kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; the enemy that sowed them is the Devil...as therefore the tares are gathered; and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world'" (Matthew 13:37-40). False Christians will be burned in the eternal fires of Hell. Make sure what you believe is God's Gospel and that you have rejected, and will forever reject, every other gospel.
We have learned from the apostle Paul that any who believe in a false gospel believe the truth to be something different to what God has declared it to be. How can anyone say they believe in God when they do not believe in what He says, i.e., the Gospel? Of vital importance is the fact that these people who believe in false gospels are not merely wrong. They are not saved and only in need of some correction, some minor adjustment to their beliefs, but all who do not have saving Faith, given by God to believe His Gospel, evidence such an appalling spiritual state that the apostle has no hesitation in referring to them as accursed! Paul also says that as long as the true and only Gospel of God is hidden, as long as a person does not believe it, as long as it is not recognized as the true Gospel or not heard at all, it is hidden from them that are lost, from those who are not in a saved state. Ignorance of the Gospel is ignorance of Christ is evidence of the absence of salvation. Now, all such people to whom the Gospel of God is hid, who do not know what the true Gospel is and therefore the truth concerning Who God is, what God has done and for whom He has done it, are left with, in fact the best they can provide, is not the truth of God but merely their worthless opinion of what the truth of God is. They adorn their beliefs with wrested Scriptures and yet seeing they see not, hearing they hear not for they do not understand and know the Truth of God (see Matthew 13:13). Trying to get to the true God through a false gospel is like holding a piece of broken glass in you bare hand and repeatedly hitting it against a brick wall. It will simply do you no good.
The ridiculous response, 'That's just your opinion', hides much within its parameters. Importantly, those who subscribe to such thinking reveal a distinct lack of wisdom when expressing such a disapproving comment. The nonsensical and quite childish attitude of 'My view is just as pertinent as your view', hides within it the reality and seriousness of the situation which is that where there are two opposing expressions of belief it can only be that one is right and one is wrong, or, that both are wrong. The only way they could be as good as each other is if they are both right or both wrong. That both are right is something which can never be. The Word of God is not subject to a man's interpretation (see 2 Peter 1:20). The Word of God is not subject to a meaning ascribed to it by man. Nor does each verse of Scripture contain several contrasting meanings. Scripture means the one thing God intended it to mean. Just like a mathematical equation has only one correct answer, the Holy Spirit teaches and reveals only the Truth, what God intended each verse to mean. Anything outside of that is not Godly but human thinking, human wisdom, which has never led anyone to God or to faith in His Salvation plan. "Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe" (1 Corinthians 1:20,21). The world by its wisdom, which God calls foolishness and which could also rightly be referred to as foolish-mess, is still wondering what the truth is. "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God....The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain" (1 Corinthians 3:19,20). The wisdom of the world is, in reality, foolishness and all its thoughts are vain for the world knoweth not God. The world's search for truth is like a blind man trying to find a white cat among a room full of black cats. "He (Jesus) was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not" (John 1:10). I would encourage the reader at this point to read through the first 2 chapters of 1 Corinthians. What the person who says, 'That's just your opinion' also fails to realise is if what I have said is merely considered to be my view, then naturally, according to such 'reasoning', it must of necessity mean that whatever my accuser believes is also nothing more than just their opinion. People like to say 'There are two sides to every story'. Indeed there are. One is wrong and the other is right! It is vitally important to realise that when it comes to what the Gospel of God is the man who merely has an opinion of it is wrong, and only the man to whom has been given the Truth and the Faith to see and believe it, is right.
A person who is ignorant of the truth of God, who is wrong about what the truth is, only ever comes to a realisation of what the real truth is when he actually sees it, and savingly believes it, when the darkness is removed and his spiritual eyes are opened by God. Until that time the Truth is, and can only appear to be, foolishness to the lost. For the Gospel believer, however, "...the darkness is past, and the true Light now shineth" (1 John 2:8). Prior to that day all the ignorant have is only what they perceive the truth to be, only what they call truth but not what God calls Truth. 'I truly believe', followed by whatsoever one cares to say does not ensure, or in any way prove, that what a person truly believes is in fact Truth, in this case the Gospel of God. The deceived do not know and, therefore, will not believe they are deceived. The ignorant do not know and, therefore, will not believe they are ignorant, and, the spiritually blind do not know and, therefore, will not believe they are spiritually blind. This is why they happily continue in whatever it is they believe for they believe it to be truth. The world says, 'Ignorance is bliss', but no one in Hell says that. This is all clearly borne out in the Scriptures we showed you earlier which deal with darkness and light, lost and saved etc. It is clear for one and all to see that only those who see the Light are saved, not the ones who sit in darkness. Only the ones who see and believe the Gospel of God, who acknowledge the truth, are saved and not the ones to whom the Gospel is hid. The Lord Jesus says: "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned" (Mark 16:16). Paul the apostle shows the distinct difference between those who believe the Truth and those who do not, in this next passage: "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the Truth, that they might be saved....That they all might be damned who believed not the Truth..." (2 Thessalonians 2:10,12). Believing and loving the Truth of God are synonymous terms. You cannot be saved if you do not believe the Gospel of God, i.e., if you do not have the love of the Truth of God. Equally, you cannot be damned if you believe the Gospel of God. Note that only the lovers, believers, of the Truth are saved and not those who, despite their 'good intentions' and 'good works' disbelieve it, who disobey it, who hate it. Haters of truth are haters of the true God. If you do not believe my words believe the words of Jesus: "But now ye seek to kill Me, a man that hath told you the Truth, which I have heard of God..." (John 8:40), and, "He that heareth you heareth Me; and he that despiseth you despiseth Me; and he that despiseth Me despiseth Him that sent Me" (Luke 10:16). "A great iniquity it is to despise the wise men, or to hate them. Jerusalem was not destroyed until the disciples of the wise men were despised in it, as it is said, "But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised His words, and misused his prophets, until the Wrath of the Lord arose..." (2 Chronicles 36:16), as if he should say, they despised those that taught His words: and thus saith the law, 'if ye despise My statutes'; they that teach My statutes ye will despise; and every one that despiseth the wise men, hath no part in the world to come; and lo! this is included in that general rule, 'for he hath despised the Word of the Lord'". Any attack upon God's Gospel ministers is an attack upon the True Gospel, which is an attack upon the Word of God and upon the Father and the Son. Those who believe in false gospels, who mock those who believe and teach the true Gospel of God, reject the truth of God and the God of Truth. Whatever is done against the Truth of God is done against Him. Though they believe they love God and are holding to His Truth, not only do all unbelievers despise the Truth of God and His true disciples, but also the Father and the Son. What you believe and what you reject; what you hold to be the Truth and whom you believe the true God to be, is the gravest issue that has ever faced mankind, for the consequences are eternal. What you believe and disbelieve determines your eternal future. Only the ones to whom God has revealed Himself, the ones who have been generously and graciously given the gift of Faith to believe Him are saved, not the ones to whom this great Gift has not been granted. Can you see the pattern here? It is only the ones whom God is merciful to, whom He has visited with His Grace and revealed His Truth to, and given them Faith to believe it that are saved. The rest who only have their interpretation of what God's Word means and what the Gospel of God is, not God's Word Itself on the matter, are as lost as lost can be. No matter their intentions or sincerity, no matter their high level of conviction that what they believe is Truth, no matter their endless list of deeply meaningful and life-changing, joy-filled experiences, and no matter their limitless arguments. No matter if they even call themselves 'Christian'. One's profession of Christianity is nothing but a man-made sham if one does not have the Gospel of God. For if one does not have the Gospel of God, one does not have God. "Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the Doctrine of Christ, HATH NOT GOD. He that abideth in the Doctrine of Christ, HE hath both the Father and the Son" (2 John 9 cf. John 5:39; 15:5). If you are a true Gospel believer, Scripture says "...the Word of God abideth in you..." (1 John 2:14,24). If you do not believe the Gospel of God clearly the Word of God does not abide in you. Christ warned: "If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned" (John 15:6). You cannot have the Father without the Son, nor can you have the Son without the Father, and you can have neither the Father or the Son if you do not believe in the Gospel which is God's Testimony of Christ His Son. Jesus said: "...Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth Me; and he that receiveth Me receiveth Him that sent Me" (John 13:20 cf. Matthew 10:40; 25:40 Luke 10:16). "...as many as have received Me, are looked upon by my Father, as having received Him: in short, such as cordially receive and embrace the ministers of the Gospel, receive Christ, in Whose name they come, and Whom they preach; and such who receive Christ, as preached and held forth in the everlasting Gospel, receive the Father of Christ; and partake of His love, grace, and kindness, shown forth in the mission and gift of Christ to them: Christ, as Mediator, represented his Father that sent him; and the ministers of Christ represent Him; so that what is done to them, either in a way of reception or rejection, He takes as done to himself: it is a common saying among the Jews, that 'the messenger of a man is as himself'". Those who reject the Gospel, not only reject and refuse those who preach and teach it, but also the Father and the Son. To abide in the doctrine of Christ is to know Him. To abide in the Doctrine of Christ is to have the Word of God abiding in you. Christ said to the unbelieving Jews: "And ye have not His Word abiding in you: for Whom He hath sent, Him ye believe not" (John 5:38). Christ also said: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24). Clearly, those who do not receive and accept the Words of the Lord Jesus, as Truth, do not believe but reject the true God and DO NOT have everlasting life! If they remain so, they shall come into condemnation for unbelief is the overriding evidence of not having passed from death unto life. To believe the Gospel of God is to acknowledge the true God and His Truth and is not merely an acceptance that His name is God and that His Son's name is Jesus. If your faith is in a false jesus then it cannot be in the true God Who sent only the true Jesus to this earth. If you are abiding not in the Doctrine of Christ you cannot have God for to have God is to only abide in Christ's Doctrine. "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also" (1 John 2:22,23). To acknowledge the Son is to believe in the Father's Gospel wherein lies the Father's Testimony of His Son (see 1 John 5:10). To deny Jesus Christ is to deny the truth about Him, about His Person and His Works as revealed in the Father's Gospel. To believe not the Gospel of Christ, is a denial of Who He is and what He has done and for whom He has done it. It is to believe in another gospel. If you believe in the jesus of a false gospel then you deny the true Jesus by supplanting another. You have the name right but not the Person. You deny and traduce the true Jesus by the very things you believe about Him and by what you say about Him. Such people are anti-Christ for they are anti-Gospel. They are not only against the true Christ but have allowed another to take His place (see John 5:43; Matthew 24:24).
Have you noticed how few that form part of the, 'That's just your opinion' crowd, rarely bring Scripture into the discussion and take the time to explain themselves providing proper Scriptural backing for their accusation and Biblical support for what they believe? They simply, and most conveniently, deny the Bible Truth they do not agree with as being a Bible Truth, and thus downgrade it to merely a view. To the foolish and ignorant the Truth of God is only one of a million other opinions held to by equally sincere and honest people who cannot agree as to what the Truth is. Therefore, this mindset when broken down and revealed to all for what it is has concluded that because there are so many differing and opposing beliefs there cannot be an absolute truth on the issue of what the Gospel is or at least no one has yet found it. For them the fact that even 'great scholarly minds' cannot come to an agreement as to what the true Gospel of God is, is proof positive that though such a truth may or may not exist, no man can ever truly know it. In other words, because there is no overwhelming consensus as to what the Gospel of God is, these people have settled on the Satanic lie that either the Gospel of God is lost or we are all, somehow, missing an unknown element of it. Therefore, according to this Scripturally irrational thought process, it must be that even God's people do not have the Truth of the Gospel, and so no one can speak with any authority as to what the Gospel of God is. The greatest Good News that has ever been concerning mankind is lost or is unrecognizable. If this is true then God has failed to protect and ensure the Gospel's survival and reception and thus left even His own people with no hope of salvation. The best anyone can have is only portions of the Gospel but even those are not agreed upon, and yet all are considered Christians. Again, they do not judge a man a Christian by what he believes but in the fact he 'believes' at all. It never occurs to any of these people that perhaps some have found it, that some do have the Truth and that the others are just plain wrong! That, just like the Word of God says, real Christians have the real Truth of God. If real Christians did not have the truth, Christian and non-Christian alike would be stumbling about in spiritual darkness. There would be nothing to distinguish them, in the context of truth and error, of believing the true God and disbelieving Him and so truth would simply be relegated to a matter of opinion. The apostle John wholeheartedly believed that Christians have the very Truth of God and did not hesitate to write to his fellow believers, "I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it..." (1 John 2:21). The problem does not lie with those who believe the truth but squarely with those who do not. Perhaps these others have overlooked the Truth. Perhaps this, to their minds unidentifiable, Gospel of God has actually passed their way but has been misconstrued as just another of man's many opinions of what it is. Perhaps they have in fact encountered the Truth in their travels through life but resisted and rejected it as the Truth of God. PERHAPS THE PROBLEM IS NOT THAT THERE IS NO TRUE GOSPEL BUT IN THE FACT THAT PEOPLE SIMPLY DO NOT RECOGNIZE IT AS THE VERY GOSPEL OF GOD! That the true Gospel of God is hidden from the majority. I wonder how many have had or do have the courage to factor that into the equation (see 2 Corinthians 4:3,4). No doubt those to whom the Kingdom of God remained a mystery concluded that there is no way of knowing what it is, etc. But those to whom it was revealed had no problem knowing what the Kingdom of God was because God had revealed it to them. "...it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it is not given" (Matthew 13:11 cf. Colossians 1:26). Anyone and everyone who appeared on the scene claiming to be the Messiah come from God, including Jesus, was rejected by the Pharisees and Sadducees and in so doing they overlooked the very Chief Cornerstone. They did not recognize the true Christ and thought Him merely another blasphemer. It should come as no surprise that true Christians never argue over what the Gospel of God is for they have all been given eyes to see, ears to hear and the same Faith from the same God to believe the same Gospel! The eruption and subsequent lava-like flow of false views and opinions, which have played no small part in the formation of false gospels, has come about by men who do not know what the Gospel of God is since they are without truth or the Faith from God to believe it. How, then, do those to whom the Gospel of God is hid measure what Truth is? What is their benchmark, how do they discern true doctrine from false doctrine and why are they so convinced that when they actually hear the Truth it could not possibly be the Truth. Seeing that they say no one knows what the Truth is how can they then be sure what error is?
